Saudi new laws for foreign workers 2024:
You may find it difficult to work in Saudi Arabia when you are nor aware about the worker rules because in Saudi Arabia and all the GCC countries rules are to be followed strictly that may be of iqama, renewal of visa on time and many more. New rules for foreign workers 2024:
Saudi Arabia has listed some rules for the workers and the worker visa that should be followed by the workers in Saudi Arabia:
1- Minimum wage:
From 2023 their no minimum wage for the workers working in private sectors. However the minimum wage for nationals working in the private sector is SAR4,000 that is USD1,066 per month, and in the public sector, it’s SAR3,000 that is USD800.

2- Working hours and overtime:
Saudi Arabia government also thinks about the Labour comfort so they have designed a schedule about the working hours and schedule that you have to follow to avoid any burden. The time to do work in Saudi Arabia is calculated as eight hours a day and a standard work week is 48 hours. But keep in mind that these rules are not applicable in Ramadan because the working hours ca not b extended beyond six hours due to fast. And the working hours per week will be 36 hours.
The maximum hour to work in a day is 11 years so if you want to do overtime then instead of leaving after eight hours the worker can get overtime and can get an extra wage for that.
3- statutory benefits:
The employees in Saudi Arabia are benefited statutory benefits that are life insurance, short-term disability, long-term , unemployment insurance, paid leave, and old-age pension disabilities
4- Leave entitlement:
There is also a rule or system for leaves in Saudi Arabia the workers can get paid leaves that are of maternity, paternity, illness, marriage, and the death of a spouse, parent, or child. If a worker completes full one year with the same employee then he will be awarded with 21 days paid leaves. In case of completing five years with a single Arabab the employee can get 3I days paid leaves.
5- Payroll system in Saudi Arabia:
As we all know that according to Islam you have to pay the wage of the Labour as soon as possible.
The employers are said to pay the workers weekly, monthly or yearly according to their comfort zone.
Saudization initiative:
Literally a new vision 2030 program has been started in Saudi Arabia that prefers to hire the locals instead of expats. This system is names as nitaqat that categorize the companies depending on the number of locals they have hired. Some special teams AMD authorities are responsible to keep a Check on saudization process.
Hiring foreign nationals:
If any employee is thinking to hire an expat then they should keep in mind that the company will sponsor the visa for the expats to work and live in Saudi Arabia. The work permits are usually valid for one year and they has to be renewed on time. If the expat then wants to sponsor the visa for his family members then this depends upon his job title not the salary.
Employment contracts:
Contracts are really important in hiring an employee because he has to accept all the terms and conditions and then sign in the employment contracts that will ties him to accept all the conditions at any cost. These contracts should be in Arabic and English also. The foreign national employees can only be hired on fixed term contracts.
No consent:
If any employee wish to terminate his job or change his job due to any reason then you can just do it by completing your contract time and then simply leave the job. There is no need of consent from the employer now simply complete the agreement time and leave the job.
